Help us solve the missing flags bug (please!)

Recommended Posts

Version 4.1.2 is able to detect the condition in which the flags vanish and then create a log file that contains information that will hopefully tell me what is going on.

If you have reasonable computer skills, we would really appreciate your help in testing. You can upgrade to 4.1.2 through:

Click here to update by exit the BBO program COMPLETELY before doing so!!!

Here's how it works:

When version 4.1.2 detects the missing flags condition it will play the "welcome" sound (to let you know the condition exists). You will continue to hear the "welcome" sound just after you log in - don't think that means the error condition is present.

Please note that you must have sound enabled in BBO and the "welcome" sound enabled as well in order to hear it in this context. If he regularly hear "welcome" when you log in, then everything will be OK. If not and if you don't know how you turned this off, send me an e-mail and I will tell you how to reenable this sound.

When you hear this sound at an inappropriate time, a file named bbolog.txt will be created in your BBO folder (which is probably c:\bridge base online). Please send me a copy of this file as an e-mail attachment to fred@bridgebase.com.

If you can remember what you were doing on BBO just before you heard the "welcome" sound, please describe in your e-mail (and please try to include whatever details you can, like where you just clicked for example).

This file does not contain any personal information or information about your PC. It contains only "state information" about BBO. You can look at it yourself if you don't believe me.

If you then exit BBO completely and log in again, the missing flag condition will be fixed (until it happens again). If you are bored and feel likely doing this, please continue to send me copies of the bbolog.txt file every time you hear the "welcome" sound happen at an inappropriate time.

Thanks to anyone willing to help us do this test.
