System is 2/1 with 100% forcing 1NT.

I'm interested in every bid here:

North's opening? We generally do not play very light openings.

South's forcing 1NT intending on making a 3-card limit raise? (I think standard given system)

North's double intending to convert a club bid to diamonds? (No idea about this. It seemed better than passing.)

EW are known to preempt agressively.

Should south continue?

After a pass or double from south, should north act?

Opening is fine. For some if us including me it's auto.

Forcing nt is obvious to show 3 card limit raise. I wouldn't make a gf bid despite the side 5 card suit.

Double is the only bid that misses me by a mile. There are other toys to show Dias and a weak hand but I would just bud 3 dia and I do not play this showing a big hand.

As south now, seeing pd doubled 2 spade I would probably take you way too high thinking you have spade shortness and we have double fit and lots of muscle.

1 and 1NT are fine.

Double by North is takeout - not what North has.

I'd bid 2 in a heartbeat playing Precision.

I can be content with a pass playing 2/1 but would definitely back in at 5 over 4

South should double 4 here to alert North that they hold LR values.
