Free
Here's a hand from the district championships for teams we played saturday. We won bigtime since our team made 5♦*+1 and 5♠= :D [hv=d=s&v=e&n=sajt9863h8dckq872&w=shqt976dkjt76ct53&e=sk4hak543daq542cj&s=sq752hj2d983ca964]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] I wonder how the bidding would go if you'd play with your favorite partner against yourself. Note that the par-score is 6♠*-1.
flytoox
I must admit I admire those stay in 5D. I certainly would play 5H or sth else.
pclayton
Here's an auction I like: South...West...North....EastPass....Pass....1♠....2♠3♠....5♦....5♠....PassPass....6♥....6♠....Dbl = AP 2♠ is Michaels. For the enlightened OS bidders its a 2N call (♦'s + another; 0-4 losers). 3♠ is competitive; per U/U. 5♦ is fitted with hearts (This hand isn't stopping below 5, so push it up) East's pass over 5♠ is forcing. Interesting question: does 6♣ here show the suit with a wild 6-6, or is 1st round club control? West takes the push with his spade void and distributional variety of 5♦ call. North "Bids one more" Conclusion by East.
luke warm
Dealer: South Vul: E/W Scoring: IMP ♠ AJT9863 ♥ 8 ♦ [space] ♣ KQ872 ♠ [space] ♥ QT976 ♦ KJT76 ♣ T53 ♠ K4 ♥ AK543 ♦ AQ542 ♣ J ♠ Q752 ♥ J2 ♦ 983 ♣ A964 1S (2S) 3S (4H) 5C (5D) 6S on the double fit... not as good as 5S making, but not too bad.. better than them making 5 (or even 6) something

Free
I must admit I admire those stay in 5D. I certainly would play 5H or sth else. At my table we stayed in 5♦*+1. The bidding went: pass - 2♦ - 4♠ - 5♦Dbl - all pass 2♦ = weak, 4+♦ & 4+ in a Major I knew my partner could still have a poor 4 card ♠, so I decided to choose the safe game, and not a risky one (game is game in imps). South for some reason thought a Dbl would turn out great :)
