Even so, when dummy hit I was not disappointed with the final spot. But what's with the 3H bid? If a human did that and found that dummy he would be accused of being wired. Bbradley62
I couldn't have passed twice as West before getting involved.
steve2005
Gib says it has 4♥ so could easily be 3-3 fit with a 5-4♦ fit available (switching a red card). Are you sure you didn't cough into your microphone?
Bbradley62
Why does the explanation of 2♦ specify only two diamonds? Was the prior round a support double situation? If you're unwilling to rebid your clubs (given two chances to do so), have only two diamonds, and will neither sit for the double nor bid NT, North must figure you're pretty likely to have four hearts. iandayre
Yes, it is a support double situation for GIB, so the second round pass denied 3 or more diamonds. I believe most human partnership only use support doubles over 1M responses. I have played that double in that auction (specifically 1C P 1D 1S Dbl) shows 4 hearts without the strength to reverse. This is one of two conventional calls sometimes referred to as Snapdragon.
