diana_eva
If you use www.bridgebase.com/myhands to analyse your results, the handviewer tool has just been upgraded: You will now see card by card play when using the NEXT button, with an option to change it to trick-by-trickThere is a PLAY button, which allows you to click and play any card as you wish, for what-if analysisCheck it out! Notice the new "Play" button that allows you to replay a deal any way you like: [hv=pc=n&lin=pn|South,West,North,East|st%7C%7Cmd%7C1S36TJKAH2TJD5QKAC%2CS45QH578QD246C34Q%2CSH69KAD89TC2689JA%2C%7Crh%7C%7Cah%7CBoard%207%7Csv%7Cb%7Cmb%7C1S%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7C2C%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7C2D%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7C2H%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7C2S%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7C3N%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7C6N%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cpc%7CD3%7Cpc%7CDA%7Cpc%7CD2%7Cpc%7CD8%7Cpc%7CSA%7Cpc%7CS5%7Cpc%7CC2%7Cpc%7CS2%7Cpc%7CSK%7Cpc%7CS4%7Cpc%7CC6%7Cpc%7CS7%7Cpc%7CSJ%7Cpc%7CSQ%7Cpc%7CC8%7Cpc%7CS8%7Cpc%7CH8%7Cpc%7CHA%7Cpc%7CH3%7Cpc%7CH2%7Cpc%7CDT%7Cpc%7CD7%7Cpc%7CDK%7Cpc%7CD4%7Cpc%7CST%7Cpc%7CD6%7Cpc%7CC9%7Cpc%7CS9%7Cpc%7CS6%7Cpc%7CC3%7Cpc%7CCJ%7Cpc%7CC5%7Cpc%7CS3%7Cpc%7CC4%7Cpc%7CH6%7Cpc%7CC7%7Cpc%7CDQ%7Cpc%7CCQ%7Cpc%7CD9%7Cpc%7CDJ%7Cpc%7CD5%7Cpc%7CH5%7Cpc%7CH9%7Cpc%7CCT%7Cmc%7C12%7C]399|300[/hv]
Bbradley62
I've read this announcement here (which probably belong in "Announcements", not "Suggestions"), and the (identical?) one on the website, and tried to use the new features. The Next button still works the same as before, which I actually prefer. The Play button is half covering the Rewind button.I can't figure out how to make the Play button work. gwnn
It works for IE for me (the button is where it should be and it does what it is supposed to) but not Chrome (the "play" button covers the other buttons and does nothing). It's a very cool new feature, I am even considering switching to Internet Explorer for it :P

gwnn
Mine is IE11 in Windows 7. I guess the sum of the two versions being 18 is not enough. :P

I'll post in announcements too, with a link here in case anyone wants to comment. Done. Click on Options, there's a new option there for card by card / trick by trick play. To make the Play button work, click it. A yellow message saying "Select cards to play for all 4 players" should appear. Check whose turn it is to lead/play. You can only play a card from whoever is on lead. Edited July 8, 2014 by diana_eva

Bbradley62
To make the Play button work, click it. Gee, why didn't I think of clicking it to try to make it work? I did that, and absolutely nothing happens.
Bbradley62
It works in IE8 in Windows7. In the version where it works, the "Play" button is at the right end of the buttons along the bottom. In the version where it doesn't work, the "Play" button is at the far left side of that area, partially covering up the "Rewind" button, both when I see the diagram in the OP and when I go to the website myself. gwnn
Ahhhhh. It's the BBO Forum T-ifier. If you turn the Chrome extension off, it will work. At least it did for me.
BillHiggin
Using windows 7, I get the fatal "play button on left, play and options do not work" using both firefox and chrome. I tried IE11 and the handviewer did not display at all (but I never use IE anyway). Using Linxx with chromium, it works fine. EDIT - update, after restarting computer, it is working in both chrome and firefox (but IE-11 seems hopelessly lost - no real loss)
inquiry
using IE 11 it didn't work for me. I clicked on tools, compatibility setting" and removed www.bridgebase.com from the compatibility mode. Then the new handviewer features worked. Not sure why I had the compatibility setting set for bridgebase, maybe something related to the forum. Anyone remember why I would have set it that way? I don't.
gwnn
Doesn't work in Linux on Chrome or Firefox. Play button on the left. I even clicked it as a last resort and it didn't work.
fred
For those of you who see the Play button on the left, when you click Options do you see an entry either for "Trick by trick" or for "Card by card"? If no then for some reason you are picking up the old version of the software (which would also explain the placement of the Play button and the fact that it does nothing when clicked). All I can suggest for now is that you clear your browser's cache and try again. If yes (or if clearing your cache doesn't help) then the problem is likely on our end. If so we will get a fix up as soon as we can. Thanks for your patience. Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com
Antrax
I had this issue and clearing the cache fixed it (FF 30, Windows 7)
paulg
On Chrome, I found that disabling all my extensions fixed the problem and it all still worked when I re-enabled them. This might be similar to clearing the cache.
barmar
don't want to clear my cache, it will get rid of saved password and preferences. No it won't. Those are in cookies, not the cache.
Bbradley62
No, when I was getting "Play" on the left I was not getting the other new options. Selectively clearing cache (removing Temporary Internet Files and Cookies while preserving things associated with favorites and saved passwords) did the trick in IE10. I'm glad to see that Handviewer remembers that I've selected the option "Advance trick by trick" so I don't have to select this every time; I think this is clearly the preferable method. uday
We could make tricky-by-trick the default easily enough if enough people say that. Or find a way to avoid the option altogether
Bbradley62
I see no need to change the coding, since the site remembers each user's preference from his previous use of the feature.
