I would contend 3NT, since the C suit rates to run opposite a singleton. 4C certainly couldn't be too highly criticized. The actual call? 4D????????? georgi Posted June 16, 2014 Report Share Posted June 16, 2014 Thanks for reporting. Will be fixed in v31. Still, by the way 4♦ doesn't promise something great as fit. GIB says 1+ card, not 3/4+. Opener having no guard in either major should expect at least one of them to be wide open. So not rebidding 3N is perhaps forgivable. A valid point, but another reason for responder not bidding 3NT is lack of a C fit. Imagine my hand opposite KQJTxxx in Clubs, the dummy provides no tricks instead of likely 7, and 4C is the last makeable spot, at least with a Spade lead. It may be too much to expect a robot to distinguish AKQxxxx or better from other 3m preempts, but I would expect a human partner to do so.
