hotShot
Lets count: you promised to have 19+ but you have only 12 so GIB thinks you have another 6-7 HCP.The only points that GIB does not know up to trick 6 are ♣AQ so GIB assumes that you hold them. Based on that, GIB knows you get all tricks it does not matter what GIB E does. If I was GIB E I would call the TD and claim misinformation. :)
lycier
Is hcp equal to total points? Please check the explanations on 4♥,that indicates 19+ total points, not for hcp. What's more, what you said is not a problem which we need to discuss.
1eyedjack
Both out by a bit. South has 14 TP, counting two for the singleton Spade. So, more than the 12 HCP but still short of 19. To get to 19, South still needs to hold at least the Club Ace, which may be sufficient to render the defence sterile.
Bbradley62
Maybe the explanation of 4♥ should be changed. I would bid 4♥ over 2♠ with x, AKQxxxxxx, xx, x.
Antrax
Bbradley, isn't that preempting the preemptor?
Bbradley62
Not when I'm only one card away from making my game contract and my partner is a passed hand unlikely to get me to slam.
