sm101
In the Robot Duplicate Tournament #8039, board #4, with both opponents bidding, GIB bids 2 spades and I jumped to 4 spades (because if I bid 3 spades the GIB may pass). GIB started cue bidding and I had to play 5 spades. The result is down 1. Do you think he is right to move towards slam? Thank you.

Antrax
Welcome! It's a good idea to always check the bid description before bidding. GIB isn't a human and some sequences where in your mind you're just "placing the contract" show extra strength in its mind.Case in point, your 4♠ bid showed 19-24 total points. Even accounting for length and shortness points, GIB expected you to have more than the 13 HCP you held, which would've made the 5-level safe and slam likely. Stephen Tu
The range for 2♠ GIB is playing here is ridiculous. 6-16? And 4♠ has to be limited more, by failure to dbl on first round. No way should a 6-9 hand (what 2♠ ought to be defined as) be allowed to move, ever, over 4♠; it should be a "simulation barred" type of call whenever partner bids game and your previous call was limited to a 3 pt range. Now if 2♠ really was 6-16, then allowing movement over 4♠ would be defensible (not with this hand), but 2♠ as that range is insane.
georgi
4♠ has a limit up to 18TP, as with 19TP GIB would double first time. 2♠ is also limited to 10TP, as with 11+, GIB would bid 2♥. Both cases would be adjusted in next version. Including the overcall in 4th seat.
