A TD in the UK said that anyone wearing a skirt would qualify as female (for the purpose of mixed pairs)

I was sorely tempted to test this hypothesis. ..

One of my most interesting pdship was J/M (Jewish/Muslim) Rabbi Leonard Helman/Timuçin Erkoç.

R.I.P he was the nicest man on earth for me. He saved my life and i loved him to death. He was like my father during 7 years i lived in Santa Fe, NM. But he had short fuses only at bridge table. I remember he convinced me to go all the way to Idaho for potato festival regional or something like that. 2nd board of the event he screamed "SCHMUCK!" before the hand was finished when we were defending 3 doubled (he hated to defend doubled partscores) which was heard by entire field. He thought they made it when we actually took 5 tricks. He kept on coming on me, and I was being a jerk and not telling him that we defeated 3, remaining silent, just to watch his face when eventually one of the opponents told him that we defeated 3 http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif This is the same Rabbi who was mentioned by Robert Levin in BW "in the well" who said he doesn't remember getting a good board from.

Also the subject of the current book "The Rabbi's Rules", which has gotten lots of good reviews. I have it on my bookshelf, but haven't started reading it yet.
