the hog
I dislike these hands intensely. Maybe 4C 4H now, who knows? 5C 6D based on the 3 minor suit cards? I think I might be resulting a bit here. Hard to avoid Hearts though with 7 good one. 6H is unlikely to make.4C 4H5C ?
mike777
I will try 5c now but who knows
gszes
4c I am not forced to bid here---the 4c bid has to be an attempt to showa very radical distribution. My hand seems so good but there is too muchchance of a misfit after this bidding so the 4c bid adequately preparesfor a 5c bid in case p bids 4h (if their heart suit is that good theycan bid 5h and they wont be disappointed with my aces). I have some sympathy for 5c bidders but that quite possibly preempts us out of slam for really no good reason. The hand does not have to be a misfitit just sounds like it could be (I know I KNOW from seeing the hands it isbut just from the bidding?). Partner has the KQ and K of my 6 card suits or heven's sake. I would always like partners to have "misfits" like this.
MrAce
4♣-4♥5♣-6♦ I don't think i can stop before slam with S hand holding xxx ♠ and KQ K values in his suits when he showed big shape.

Something like this, 6♦ is where you'll end up and is not horrible
MrAce
Something like this, 6♦ is where you'll end up and is not horrible No, it is not horrible. I am sure we all played slams some of which makes this one look "cold" http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif
mfa1010
4♣ is clear, but south's bid over that is very diffucult. I can see merit in 4♦, 4♥, 5♥ and 5NT(COS). If south goes for 4♥ only and is passed out (not here - north should bid 5♣ with his extreme shape), then I would expect to have missed a slam very, very often. Maybe this should have been a poll instead, wtd after 4♣. 6♦ is good, since a club lead is unlikely. 7♦ is not that bad either, since 6♦ will take 13 a lot of the time it makes anyway. I assume it is best to play on hearts after a nonclub lead.

Zelandakh
4♣-4♥5♣-I am interested (on a theoretical level) if everyone plays 5NT the same way on this auction after 5♣.
gszes
Misfit? Partner has the KQ and K of my 6 card suits or heven's sake. I would always like partners to have "misfits" like this. Curious statement my bidding assumes we cannot see each others hands. A bidding questionis not about how to bid when one can see both hands but how one would bid in real life:))))))
aguahombre
4♣(the easy part)-4♥(obvious)5♣(Passing 4H would be tempting, but....)-6♦(Yeh, Pass would really be wimpy) I don't think i can stop before slam with S hand holding xxx ♠ and KQ K values in his suits when he showed big shape.Agree with Timo, But just had to put words in his mouth. whereagles
Easy 5♣. There are no tools to evaluate a slam here, so I'll just give up on it.

aguahombre
Easy 5♣. There are no tools to evaluate a slam here, so I'll just give up on it.Bidding 5C, combined with Partner's tools of observation, should get it done. I agree with Fluffy that bidding 5C is not clear; but if I did that, Pard would be the one doing the evaluating.
whereagles
Well, pard's minor suit holding is as good as it gets. Plus, he can diagnose a short spade across. He might raise to 6 on this ground, but I sure aint doing any research on my own :)

My statement about possible misfit was referring to my choice of bidding 4c sorry if misunderstanding.
