Version 4.0.7 Available for Testing

Version 3.9.9 (the current "official" version of BBO) has by and large been a success. In particular, all indications are that the "white screen problems" that plagued some of our users for several months are now a thing of the past. Also, most of our members report better log in times and performance in general with 3.9.9 than they had with previous versions.

 

But (there is always a but)...

 

1) We managed to introduce a couple of serious new bugs with 3.9.9 that causes BBO to crash for some people at seemingly random times.

 

2) The "autoreconnect facility" stopped working properly in 3.9.9.

 

3) Some members actually experienced slower logins with 3.9.9.

 

Version 4.0.7 attempts to correct these problems. If you are willing to help us with testing this new version, as a special bonus you will have access to the Russian version of BBO as well as new flags from Kuwait, Vanuatu, and Angola (woohoo!).

 

The usual instructions follow. Please e-mail me (fred@bridgebase.com) if you find any problems (and especially if you experience crashes) with 4.0.7

 

IMPORTANT!!! You must exit the BBO program COMPLETELY before you begin the update process!

 

You can upgrade your BBO to the latest version:

or download everything (including the latest files) from scratch:

I suggest you use the first method unless you have a good reason not to. Please note that your normal BBO settings will not be lost if you use the first method, but they will be lost if you use the second method.
