straube
1. Pass. From a LOTT point of view...maybe 8-cd heart fit and 9-cd club fit so.....17 tricks. If they make game we're down 4 (doubled I assume) in 5C. 2. 2S (I assume we're playing 2/1 GF....2N rebid is tempting)
manudude03
1. Pass, at these colors, bidding should be to make.2. 2NT, would prefer better pips, but this is too good a 10 count to be bidding 2S.
mike777
deal two. If you bid 2s pard will rebid 3c, what now?
deannz
Deal 2Rebid 3♠. This is a suit orientated hand. Was 1NT forcing? Think its closer to 4♠ rebid than anything else. Over 3♣? 4♠ now for sure. D./
nige1
Hand 1: Red vs white ♠ 9 8 ♥ 9 7 x x ♦ J x ♣ J x x x x(Pass) Pass (4♥) Double(Pass) ?? Hand 2: Both white ♠ Q x ♥ A x x x x ♦ x x ♣ A x x x1♠ (Pass) 1N (Pass)2♦ (Pass) ?? IMOPass = 10, 5♣ = 6. 4♥X= may be cheaper than 5♣X - 2.2♠ =10, 3♠ = 9. 2NT = 7, 2♥ = 5. deal two.If you bid 2♠ pard will rebid 3♣, what now? IMO 4♣ = 10, 3♥ = 9, 4♠ = 8, 3N = 6, 3♠ = 4. It's just possible that partner is 5044
mike777
Nige I note you seem conflicted between 4c..going past 3nt and 3h, or 4s, thus the discussion. :) For the record I do not know the deal, not my hand, email problem. I thought 3h would be the popular response....I was wrong.

mike777
I want to bid 3H and think that should create a GF. thanks straube.. I also bid 3h but I did think this was a "transfer blame" bid. I think we all agree we are in gf. 3c can be a pretty huge 5044 hand or something smaller with other shape, thus we hv a discussion. whereagles
Hand 1: 5♣. There is a real danger to see 4♥ making. 5♣ on the other hand will be cheap and may even make. Hand 2: 2NT. If opener accepts the invite, he should bid 3♥ on a 5341 shape. That's the natural way to "solve" this problem.
