whereagles
3NT wtp? Slow tray is not completely irrelevant: if pard hesitated, the bid is safe. If RHO hesitated, it need not be because he's strong. He could be considering some sort of psyche if weak. So there is a *slight* tendency for the bid to be safer than with normal tray tempo. Still, I'm willing to jump onto the bidding because (1) I have more than a min opener and (2) I'm vulnerable.

PhilKing
[hv=pc=n&s=sq632hkt4da95cak2&w=shq3dkq86432cq763&n=sa854h8765d7cj954&e=skjt97haj92djtct8&d=w&v=0&b=8&a=3dppp]399|300[/hv] Jeff Sapire quoted this hand in a thread about the Doctors on BridgeWinners. Wladow's decision to pass 3♦ out is indeed remarkable. The hand has much better prospects than the one we Frances asks about - holding Axx in the preempt suit gives is much more control of the hand. The point is when we are able to shut out lefty, we will often make game on less than 25 points, but it partner has an 11 count with two small opposite our Qxx, we can lose the first six tricks. I held the hand discussed in this thread and would like to think I would have passed out 3♣, but West did not preempt at my table. :)
the hog
I would also pass this hand. It has no source of tricks and only one D stopper. I know Mr Ace wil bid 3NT in a huff or perhaps even a minute and a huff. Now this is a 3NT bid:QxKT4AxxAKJxx
nige1
I would also pass this hand. It has no source of tricks and only one D stopper. I know Mr Ace wil bid 3NT in a huff or perhaps even a minute and a huff. Now this is a 3NT bid:♠ Q x ♥ K T 4 ♦ A x x ♣ A K J x x If that's a 3NT bid, then is this is a better one?♠ Q ♥ K T x ♦ A x x x ♣ A K J x x Because now, it's more likely that the partnership has a ♠ stop?
