reverses?

Recommended Posts

1 - 2 - 2 is also a reverse, this time forcing to game

This is no more a reverse than the following is playing inverted minors 1-2-2

now if your playing 1-2 as GF you can afford to define it as a reverse but I think it merely shows extras over a standard American 2 and I'm sure some people play it as merely bidding out their distribution.

It is a reverse by definition - a non-jump rebid of a higher-ranking suit at the 2 level. If it shows extras over a SA (or Acol/SEF/Forum D) 2 response then it is also GF. And if 2 was GF then obviously the auction is also GF regardless of whether this reverse rebid shows extras or not. So I am not sure what you think is wrong with my commentary, which was designed to be open enough to cope with all normal scenarios.

THE REVER.The rever consists of a series of two declarations which requires the respondent to rise to the level of three if it is prefered the color stated initially. Since the final commitment of the couple may be a contract of 9 tricks the statement after a response at the level of one, requires 19-20 points [stayman]: 47) s 7 h A K 10 2 d AJ 10 5 4 c AQ 2 The declaration: 1d (p) 1s (p) 2 h. Note that the first color is longer than the second. "This will occur whenever the statement in rever covers two contiguous colors" (..Stayman systeme .. pagg . 74 and 75 [by Google Translate from italian edition ]).
