1eyedjack
Unless and until Fred sorts out the problems with scrolling chat (or to be precise NON-scrolling chat) in the mobile app, may I suggest that TDs refrain from pasting large volumes of text into announcements to the tournament, whether singly or (worse) several long posts in quick succession. You might also cut out the "cute" graphics comprised of several lines on punctuation characters that end up depicting a duck or ship or whatever. The current practice results in text scrolling off the top of the chat window, irretrievably, often before there has been a chance to read it. If TD's paste the Rules under which the Competition is being run to Tournament then that has to be not everyone who plays reads the Tournament rules before entering As for large amounts of 'Graphics' you may have a point :)
diana_eva
The problem is that when TDs paste large chunks of texts quickly on tourney chat, on tablets and phones where the chat area is very small that text is impossible to read. It will scroll across the screen quickly and there is no way to scroll back and read what you missed. I think the solution is to have TDs paste one rule at a time. Even on a large screen it's impossible to read everything so fast.
Bbradley62
If the rules are posted, I don't see the need to copy and paste them into the chat box. If players violate the rules because they're too stupid or lazy to read them, they can simply be banned. And there's no excuse at all for the "cute" graphics. barmar
These large messages aren't just used for tourney rules. Some tourney hosts print a greeting message with ASCII art. In the last round of ACBL tourneys, the TD posts a link to the web page with all the recent ACBL tourney results.
