Responder was generally afraid to go on after 1C-1H-3NT, and of course passed an overly heavy Gambling 3NT opening.

But I wouldn't even be sure what responder's 4-level suit bids mean after 1C-1H-3NT, to be honest.

Anybody have cool tools to find this one?

3NT made 8, on the SJ lead (though they only scored it as 520, not 550.) Hearts were Jxx-AKQx with Jxx on lead.

I don't find the rush to cuebid in support of clubs, you can use 4 to start cuebidding and 4 as natural. Regardless of that, some pairs have trouble if they have the agreement not to cuebid partner's suit with a singleton. But anyway, 3NT typicially shows weakness in aprtner's suit, and singleton is not an unexpected holding at all.

I agree.

The crux of the problem is how to define 3nt,for me,the defination of 3nt is 18p+ values with a long solid opening suit, the suit pd respond is 0-1 card and it also promise stoppers in others side suits. So don't need to think about more, bid up to 6.
