uday
One of the tourney hosts suiggested that when a tourney is complete, the leaderboard and scores should not be made available until the director has had time to adjust the scores. Currently, the scores are posted for about 30 minutes (less for team games). If the director adjusts a score in this timeframe, the leaderboard is re-computed. It was pointed out to me that many pairs wont bother coming back to check to see who one. Choices: a) Leave as is. If pairs really want to know they can keep checking the leaderboard, or use myhands after the tourney has been removed from the list of tourneysB) Leave as is but notify all players of new leader board (could be annoying, i must say). c) Do not post leader board when tourney ends. Wait 10 minutes (or whatever) and then post it. This has the problem that no adjustments may be forthcoming. Additionally, some pairs wont want to wait to see how they did. JRG
For what it is worth: Post the leader board immediately, but put some indication at the top ("Subject to adjustments"?). Then, the host (or whoever is responsible for the final score adjustments, if any) should have a simple way of indicating the results are final (change the indication at the top to "Final Results"?). Karma
I would like something like option C. I would like a chance to review the results, make adjustments as necessary, record the winners names and prepare an announcement congratulating the winners. Then I manually release the results when they are ready for public viewing. Problems with this: - director gets disconnected or forgets to release the results.- irritating players that want to know NOW!!!- irritating players that want adjustments after the tourney is over.- irritating players that are just generally irritating. cheers,
Karma
Currently, the scores are posted for about 30 minutes (less for team games). Is there some problem with keeping the posted scores around longer? Like 24 hours? Perhaps sort the list of tourneys with completed ones at the bottom, current ones at the top, and pending ones in the middle with the next one at the top of this list?Or is there some other place I can review completed tourneys?tx.
