2NT slam killer

I was recently dealt a nice 0=6=3=4 hand opposite GIB's 2NT opening.

2NT-3

3-4

4

So far so good. I've shown five of my six hearts and all of my clubs, as well as a hand at least good enough to force game. The problem is that now I had no slam move. New suits after GIB's 4 (which confirmed 3 card support according to the description) were still natural, showing 4+ cards. Bidding clubs again showed a 6-5 with longer clubs. My only slammish move, besides bidding slam, was RKCB. The alternative was to raise hearts directly, which shows some SI and six hearts, but I felt it was better to pattern out.

I think 4 should set trump with new suits being cue bids. I admit I haven't checked what 5 would've been, it's usually some sort of general slam try, but probably cue bidding would be better if available.

how nice a hand? it would be helpful to see the hand.

if opener had good fit for you he could have made a squeeze bid 4 to announce interest in slam (without setting trump) Don't know if GIB has this probably not but good human bid lol

opener could have 4 or 5 good spades and slam is doomed with 4 bid

Well, I ran 3-4 simulations giving north a balanced 20-21 with <4 clubs and 3 hearts and south with a 8-10 HCP 0-6-3-4 or 0-6-4-3. This creates the same auction on all of them

Good slams were missed on these cards:

[hv=pc=n&s=shakqt74d985cjt86&n=sakjh963dakt4ckq5]133|200[/hv]

[hv=pc=n&s=shqt8642dqt7caj74&n=skt8hak5dak96ck95]133|200[/hv]

[hv=pc=n&s=shkjt532dq97ckt98&n=sakq8hq64daj64ca7]133|200[/hv]

The other hand was a 50% slam.

hand 1 - solid hearts by responder, driving to slam or at least making that 5 bid GIB likes to make

hand 2 & 3 too much of a fit and control heavy would not just bid 4 would bid 4, GIB probably should bid 5 it likes that bid

appreciate your effort but the problem is if opener heavy in queens and jacks and has pts in spades but not AK (Q) which will be handy

The issue here isn't should responder drive to slam. It's that when responder wants to drive to slam, there's no intelligent way to do so. You can bid slam, you can do pessimistic keycard, or you can fake a suit at the 5-level and see if GIB has anything smart to say about that.

Cue bidding would've been a much more straightforward way to go about things, I feel.
