1- GIB's forcing 1nt is alerted as 6+hcp,however GIB have 4 hcp actually.

2- For GIB system,I wonder reverse 2 is not forcing a round.

http://hearthstone.gamepedia.com/Aldor_Peacekeeper ? (Only those who play Hearthstone will get this)

I'm surprised, playing 5cM, that West doesn't simply raise 1H to 2H. Then he passed a reverse... it looks like West was drunk or something!

edit: cross-post with Lord Molyb. If GIB actually plays 1NT-then-2H = less than constructive, that is an ugly system! What are you going to do if partner reverses, or jumps, or whatever? You'll be too high. Why not just 1H-2H and be done with it.

Not to mention that 1H-1NT; 2m-2H would normally just be preference anyway, showing 2 (occasionally only one) hearts, not three.

Yes I have seen this treatment in the wild. As far as I can tell, the rationale is that a weak raise to 2M with 3 card support has roughly the same overall playing strength as a "normal" raise/preference based on doubleton trump. Certainly having a third trump adds value to responder's hand, so *IF* you feel the need to split the ranges of a raise to 2M, it makes some logical sense to do it this way round rather than have a direct raise as the weaker option (when holding 3 trumps).

I am not convinced by the long term merits of splitting the range of raises to 2M, although I can appreciate that on some hands it gains a bit.

On this hand speaking personally I would have passed the 1H opener with West's cards.

I don't understand why GIB took a bid. I count the hand as 5 pts 1 pt for doubleton, but its in Q & J's real ugly!

odds certainly favour passing and if opponents compete can proudly bid 2

only explanation is GIB is trying to show a 5-7 pt raise and the explanation wasn't changed when this change put into effect.

also don't understand final pass, 3 got to be a better spot than 2 partner after all reversed so 3 level should be safe

If opener has a jump rebid or a reverse, I can guarantee that you aren't going to play in 2 of a major after 1M - 2M because opener is going to put you in game, so you aren't worse off than initially responding 1NT. The "extra" trump is balanced by having a sub minimum response.

Passing the reverse is a bug in the GIB programming. I can imagine that the coding says to only rebid 2 no matter what, and when 2 becomes impossible, GIB just passes. The default should be to take a preference.
