kfay
I have a non-bridge-playing friend who just happened to text me: "I want the next book I read to be an intro to bridge book. Recommendations?" Now, I've been trying to recruit this guy for years. Very smart dude with keen appreciation for the types of skills bridge requires. He actually used to kind of play some back when we were in high school and I was first learning (this wasn't really bridge as I now know it). I don't think I want to start him off on some boring old "Aunt Mabel Teaches Bridge"... anything come to mind that will really get him hooked -- after which he'll go back to cover all the boring stuff? ggwhiz
Mollo to whet his appetite. Then some Learn to Play download for the basics (if he even needs that) and hopefully get a glimmer of understanding as to what Mollo was talking about. Something like Bridge Baron for play problems. He can knock off a couple of those with his morning coffee. Not exactly an intro but he sounds sharp and should find the humor in the game before the drudge work begins. JLOGIC
Murder at the bridge table is perfect for this imo
dustinst22
Has anyone read this? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0061127647/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 From what I skimmed, it looks like an interesting read and maybe a way to get someone into the game without throwing a bunch of bridge jargon at them. Havent checked out the book Justin mentioned, curious about it.
kfay
I've read TBSAOIF. It was enjoyable, but I don't recall there being any actual bridge involved. Keep an eye out for mention of my 2006 University of Michigan bridge team. Go Blue!
