Cromlyn
Could someone please outline the system known as 'Forum D'? If it is a natural system in what way does it differ from Acol?
Fluffy
its a 5 card major system with strong NT very similar to french standard, the basics are similar to SAYC, but it is better defined.
Zelandakh
Forum D is essentially the same as SEF from what I can tell, including 5 card majors, a 15-17 NT and Benji 2 level openings. I find the philosophy of the system quite alien coming from an Acol background but I am slowly working out the logic behind things. One major difference is that Forum D is quite a conservative system - openings are generally heavy by modern (Acol) standards and Opener is not meant to raise with 3 card support. If it is an opponent using it then you do not have to prepare anything special. You might get the chance to push them around a little bit if you play an aggressive version of Acol but otherwise just play as if against an SAYC pair. If you speak a little German then there is a document outlining the system more fully at the DBV website (see "FORUM D 2012 - Kurzbeschreibung (von Dr. Karl-Heinz Kaiser)"). If you are interested for yourself then you might also try to find out about Forum D+ (see "FORUM D Plus - Kurzbeschreibung (von Dr. Karl-Heinz Kaiser)" at the above website) which is a more advanced version of the system.
