Jinksy
AT7422K975QT8 All vul, teams of 4 (IMPs), in 4th seat the bidding goes P P 1H (4cM) to you. How would you rank the following calls, and how big a gap is there between each of them: PX1SOther
Zelandakh
1♠ >> P >>> 2♠ > X

Zelandakh
Going to the bar is always > any call!
billw55
1♠, all other calls zero.
aguahombre
Going to the bar is always > any call!Yes, but would be a violation of the proprieties at my turn to call....still would rather take the PP than Pass or Double.
mycroft
Ah how I wish we were still at the old club, where going to the bar is a 30 second trip, and I can use the time to figure out how I'm going to bid 1♠.
Lord Molyb
♠ AT742♥ 2♦ K975♣ QT8(P) - P - (1♥) - ? IMO: 1♠ = 10, X = 5, P = 3, 2♠ = 1.
mr1303
Actually, I would rate 2S much higher than X or P. But still nowhere near as high as 1S.
the hog
1S is my first choice, x is the second. 2S is terrible.
mikestar13
1♠ is the only choice IHMO and if I were forced to take some other action, I'd go to the bar and take the PP and I don't drink!
awm
1S=10, Pass=7, others not worth considering. Considering we are red, partner is a passed hand, and we expect to usually be on lead, I think there is a case for passing and not helping opponents in the play. Still think 1S is normal though.
Mbodell
X seems like the normal call when you have one of the spades in with the clubs.2♠ could work out, but would be more normal with one of the clubs in with the spades.Pass is ok, but would be more normal missing one of the AKQ cards.1♠ is the normal action. helene_t
I am not sure if 1♠ is worth it r/r at IMPs with a passed partner. I would do it at mps. I would do it if opps play Muiderberg (so LHO can hardly have a trap pass on my 1♠ bid). As it is I think I would pass.
chasetb
Pass > 2S > 1S > 2H as Michaels if available We are all red at teams, 1♠ takes up no bidding space, we have a sub-opening hand, our suit is poor, and with our very low ODR in most cases we don't want partner to sacrifice. This seems a case where we have nothing to say. Besides, maybe this is a rare case where if they do end up in Hearts, partner leads the singleton Spade to our Ace for a ruff, and we set them because of it.
