TMorris
You are in 2nd seat after a Pass non-vul v vul at IMPs. You have A876543xK765x Thanks,
Endymion77
3♠ seems about right
HighLow21
But we may lose the diamond suit! ;-)
mikeh
I see this as about a 3.49999♠ call but wouldn't argue with anyone who sees it a little more aggressively :P I really doubt that partner will play me for such a good playing hand at favourable, so I am itching to bid 4♠. I would definitely do so in 1st or 3rd, but being in 2nd causes me to pull back in just a tad and opt for the conservative 3♠ call. 7141 is not in the same family as, say, 7231 or 7132. Fluffy
suit quality bad, 7-4 good, so just 3 spades.
ahydra
I prefer 3S due to the suit quality. ahydra
the_clown
4♠ form at this vul without great conviction.
aguahombre
There is only one big surprise here ---someone else passed. I also considered 1S, but the NBO probably has no sense of humor. Missing the #2 straight flush in my suit and holding 2nd-round control of the other three somehow doesn't feel right for a 3 or 4-bid, and it is the highest suit. madongjun
I would like bid 2♠!
Zelandakh
Wow I did not expect any votes at all for 2 or 3♠. Seemed like a 4 or pass hand for me, with my preference for the aggressive action.
wyman
4S. I'm never bidding 2S, and the 7-4 + w/r IMP bumps this to a 4S for me.
MrAce
I would bid 4♠ and fasten my seat belt. 3♠ is fine for me, 2♠ or pass is not.
monikrazy
Like aguahombre, I am curious about the merit of 1S here. If we preempt I prefer 3S, even W/R. If partner does have values 1S seems by far the most constructive and we have a much better chance of evaluating NT and diamonds.
aguahombre
Like aguahombre, I am curious about the merit of 1S here.I think I know the relative merit of 1S, my caveat was about irritating the TD's.
the hog
4S. Seriously someone suggested 2S? Rofl.
neilkaz
Heads I bid 3♠, tails I bid 4♠. The coin landed on heads so I voted 3♠ noting my lousy suit, but I won't be happy if the opps get to 4♥but maybe with one of them passed, it won't happen or they can't make it due to a 4-1 split. MickyB
3♠. Can't stomach 4♠ on such a bad suit.
mikestar13
This is a 3.5♠ opening, but since this is not legal, I go aggressive with the 7-4 shape and choose 4♠. 3♠ is reasonable though not to my taste. 2♠ is worse than passing. manudude03
I've been becoming more conservative of late, 3S. I think the real deciding factor is whether or not we are content defending 4H. I think we have plenty of chances to beat it.
djarv47
(changed vote to 3♠ due to misunderstanding who was vulnerable) I like 3♠ better than 4♠ because after the A and K, there really isn't much there, is there?

You have A876543xK765x Thanks, Sorry but I may have read the vulnerability wrong here. Does this mean 1st/3rd seat are vulnerable, or 2nd/4th seat are vulnerable? I based my choice on 2nd seat vulnerable.
Zelandakh
Sorry but I may have read the vulnerability wrong here. Does this mean 1st/3rd seat are vulnerable, or 2nd/4th seat are vulnerable? I based my choice on 2nd seat vulnerable. It means WE (2nd & 4th) are not vulnerable and THEY (1st & 3rd) are vulnerable. lycier
For radical bidding strategy,I will bid 4♠ even though 3♠ seems right due to its bad suit.
