Softwae - Use button for convention cards

I am suggesting a USE button for convention cards. Currently the CCs are automatically put up when you are playing with a partner for whom you already have a CC on BBO.

I would like to request a USE button in the CC section so that I can play any convention card in my collection with a new partner. A smaller number of cards will be needed as long as they can be used with a number of partners instead of just one partner as is currently the case.

The only buttons at present are Delete , View / Edit

The cards that are there such as BBO 2/1, Precision, Advanced 2/1 should also be available for the USE button. Currenntly the default is SAYC only. These should be available for use upon request.

Any thoughts ?

Click the NS CC / EW CC button at the table instead of going via My BBO at the top. There is a "Use" button if you start from there. Or, if there is already a CC assigned to your partnership, delete it then click the NS CC / EW CC button again and you'll be able to "use" another.

Barmar's solution works too.

OK but these are really workarounds, the problem does exist... it is not elegant to have to delete the default assignment just to temporarily use another.

It seems to me that as the original poster implied, a more logical and complete approach would be for each player to flag the CCs he is capable of playing, in order of preference. Then when he joins a table BBO could assign the best fit CC of the pair, and/or allow them to choose between their common CCs. This would also provide a means to avoid occasional partners with no compatible bidding scheme, to enforce 2/1 in automated tournaments, to mitigate the problem of people who write nothing in their profile, etc. Or am I missing something and these mechanisms exist already?

These are solutions that already exist.

- If a pair already has a CC then that CC will be loaded to the table automatically. If that pair decides to no longer use their CC, then they can choose another CC and use that instead.

- if a tournament has a default CC, and the pair playing has no CC, then the default CC will be assigned. If that pair prefers to use another CC, they can do so at any time.

- anyone can define a "favorite CC" that will show in their player profile. So once at a table with a random player you can view each other's fav CC and choose which one to use.

Automatically matching players by stock CCs is a different thing, and it has been suggested before but for the moment there is no CC-matching on BBO, except for the case when a pair already has a CC - then BBO will remember their CC and automatically load it to the table each time the players play together.
