Lord Molyb
[hv=pc=n&s=skq65ht96dqj43cjt&w=sjthkj5dt98765ckq&n=sa97haq7dakca9765&e=s8432h8432d2c8432]399|300[/hv]North plays 6NT on the ♠2 lead. He wins in his hand and leads a spade to the king, then runs the ♥T to the jack and queen, unblocks the ♦AK, east discarding a heart, and leads a low club to the ten and queen. A club is returned to the ace.The position is now this:[hv=pc=n&s=sk6h96dqjc&w=shk5dt987c&n=s9ha7dc976&e=s84h84dc84]399|300[/hv] At this point, east should start paying attention. North now leads the ♠9 to the king, which promotes the ♠8, and west discards a diamond. Next comes the ♦Q discarding a club. If east discards the ♥8, a diamond is cashed and a heart can be run through west. If a spade is discarded, declarer cashes out 4 tricks very carefully, one in each suit. If east unguarded a club, the ♦J could be cashed, discarding a heart, and North's hand would become good.

Declarer cashes all of North's winners and East with his 6 high hand is squeezed in the majors. East's hand has a pip count of 50 compared to 53 in the OP

Cyberyeti
Actually, adjust your original to (same majors): N as isE ♦5432, ♣2S ♦986, ♣43W as is and don't you get a legitimate 46.
manudude03
yeah, you can also get a legitimate 46 if you take the 2nd layout and rearrange the minor suit winners so North has 5 solid clubs and Axxxx in diamonds, West can then throw a diamond and still maintain guard there (there is no club threat)
manudude03
I think going lower is going to go into layouts where there is a play that doesnt involve the weak hand getting squeezed. Here's a pretty sketchy 43. I'm pretty sure that's the lowest it can go, any weaker and East can't have a 2nd menace.[hv=pc=n&s=s6hak5dcakqjt987&w=skqjt987hqjtdkq6c&n=sa4h987dajt987c65&e=s532h6432d432c432]399|300[/hv] West leads a diamond against 7NT.Yes, declarer can make it by triple squeezing West, but suppose declarer makes the mistake of throwing a heart on all the club winners. After trick 7, the position is this [hv=pc=n&s=s6hak5dc87&w=skqjhqjdqc&n=sa4h98djtc&e=s53h6432dc]399|300[/hv] On the penultimate club, West must throw a spade or a heart.1. West throws a spade, North a diamond and East a heart. Now on the last club:a. West throws a spade, North another diamond and East is squeezed in the majorsb. West throws a heart, North throws a heart and East must throw a spade, now AK of hearts squeezes West. 2. West throws a heart, North a diamond and East a heart. Now on the last club:a. West throws a heart, North throws a diamond and with the 9 of hearts high, declarer has 3 heart winners.b. West throws a spade, see 1b. Follow 1a for the normal squeeze line :)edit: just noticed I can rearrange this into a 43.re-edit: hands editededit-3: missed the defense of West throwing hearts on the penultimate club.
