How do you think of this bidding sequence? I think this hand is just a very good role model .

Not sure whether you're being sarcastic.

I think your third bid should've been 2 and not 1NT, which would've told GIB you're either 4=4=1=4 or 4=4=2=3. The final contract is obvious and you also get there if GIB splinters after 1.

Why do you say so? I think the GIB bidding style is excellent in my heart.

There is quite a strong body of players who play that 4th suit at level of 1 is natural (4 card suit) and forcing, and reserve jump to 2 to show the classical artificial 4th suit forcing. Clearly GIB does not play it that way, but that is a style thing.

Certainly you lied to GIB with your 1NT bid, which systemically shows 2-3 Spades according to the explanation attached to the bid.

I think that to praise the auction may be an overbid if you stumble into the right contract by departing from GIB's system. That aside if it is your style it is certainly a reasonable route.

Seems obvious to me that North's first rebid should be a splinter of 3S. Any 4SF bid just clouds the issue.

+1, normally. Downside is that no matter how suitable the hand for a splinter, GIB’s judgement in followup continuations after a splinter is so dire as generally to render futile the exercise of splintering in the first place. Not so applicable of course as an objection when it is GIB splintering, and it is your human judgement on which the partnership is then reliant.

Some partnerships place a limit on values to splinter. If GIB does that then this North may be too strong.
