A strange GIB decision

The meanings of my double is to look for best spot,a pity that GIB pass, orelse what can I do next?so I have to say this is a strange GIB decision.

Maybe 2NT or 3NT depend on trust in partner's points?

 

Hoping West doesn't have 6 spades (KQJxxx ) with A.

 

Double shows length in spades for the moment. Probably weak spot, but it's written as it.

 

Or maybe some new suit like 3

 

With hand like:

 

x

KQx

KJxxx

Kxxx

 

GIB won't raise 4, but will bid 3 so 3NT could still be reached. With weak hand with 4 cards in hearts will bid 3, with stronger 4.
