Winstonm
The idea of NT defense is to establish length winners if possible or otherwise go passive. Here, though, partner seems to be holding most of the cards in front of the NT bidder so passive defense looks like it will be unsuccessful. LHO did not follow with Smolen, so it would seem likely he has at most 4 hearts, and may have 3 with 4 spades. As partner has the most possible entries, and at least 4 hearts, this may well be our best source of length tricks so I lead the heart Ace. It may be wrong. So sue me.
ggwhiz
It may be wrong. So sue me. Merit at imps but we don't have to beat the hand at mp's. I'm aiming to attack spades twice...... or pickle them depending on the dummy. KJ8x in dummy to pards Qxx ? It may be wrong but I'll plead diminished mental capacity. :P

nige1
MP ♠ 10 9 6 ♥ A 2 ♦ 7 6 4 3 ♣ J 9 7 5Your lead against 3NT after the following auction1N - 2C2D - 3N IMO ♦ = 10, ♠ = 9, ♣ = 8, ♥ = 6. Trying not to give too much away on the lead. Any lead may give a trick, a tempo, or even the contract but a ♠ seems risky if LHO has 4 ♠ including ♠8 . gszes
this is MP not IMPS and we can be highly successful by merely holding declarer to theleast number of overtricks possible. We can try for some aggression by leading the spade Thoping we will hit partner. I would lead a diamond merely because declarer (if they are going to take dia finesses) would usually do so through partner anyway. The dia lead willshould be the most likely way to avoid damaging the defense and that may be all we needfor a great score on a seemingly normal hand. dia 6 (2nd highest) = 10 low dia = 8 spade T=7 don't care much for anything else
