ArtK78
My link What is GIB doing? Some might question my 3♣ response to 2♠, but it is a 4 card minor. Where in this auction did I show 4 diamonds? GIB chose 6♦ over 6♣ (which turned out to be a great slam, undone only because GIB W lead his doubleton club to give his PARTNER a ruff) but I don't understand why GIB N bid 6♦. Bbradley62
undone only because GIB W lead his doubleton club to give his PARTNER a ruffIs this one of those cases where playing in the 4-4 fit actually has a better chance of success than playing in the 5-4 or 6-4 fit, because you should be able to throw two spades on the 5th and 6th clubs after conceding a trick to the K♦, so you don't even care about the spade finesse? That is not the point. Why are we in 6♦? I made a 4♦ CUE BID after agreeing on clubs. Then GIB assumes that 4♦ is a real suit, despite the fact that I explicitly showed 4 clubs earlier. So, arriving at 6♦ was just a happy accident in that I had AQJT of diamonds. It is absurd for GIB to make diamonds the trump suit on this auction. georgi
Should it be obvious cuebid when partner shows two suits bidding in other than agreed to be cue? Is1♥ - 1♠2♠ - 4♥ splinter or cuebid?

Is1♥ - 1♠2♠ - 4♥ splinter or cuebid? This is an entirely different situation, and is the subject of a partnership agreement. In the minor-suit Stayman auction, 2♠ asked for a 4-card minor and 3♣ showed one. One can't suggest playing in the other minor at a later point in the auction.
