Starting some course work at Harvard Law next semester...

Still happy at / working for Akamai

Started as a joke to see if I could get in and it kinda spiraled out of control

Have fun!

Attending Law School (let alone Harvard Law) must be an entirely different experience when you have already been out in the "real world" first.

When I graduated from Rutgers - Camden Law School back in 1981, my father (a dentist) recognized someone in my graduating class. My fellow graduate had attended dental school with my father in the early 1950s. He decided he needed a career change after almost 30 years of practicing dentristry, so he decided to attend law school at night.

Good luck to you, keep us posted on how it is going. I am curious as to whether you are planning to combine law with your previous experience. The (now deceased) father of a friend combied law and engineering into a very successful (meaning exciting as well as lucrative) career with a major company. Although I don't know in any detail what your current job is, I gather it is heavily involved with advanced computer issues. It seems obvious to me that there will be some great opportunities for excitement in the legal parts of this area.

Anyway, whatever your choice, may enjoy it.

Absolutely no plan to practice law...

I am mainly doing this out of amusement value and to keep the grey matter involved.

As an example, I am enrolled in the following next semester:

Small reading section run by Bruce Schneier...

So looking forward to ths

I would be careful - law is a siren that ensnares the unwary. It could even turn you into a horny toad, if you get too involved. :D

I resent that remark. Ribbit!

I read Schneier's essay The Battle For Power on the Internet and his arguments in the Economist's airport security debate.

Be careful. Taking a class from this guy looks like it could inspire you to get off your ass, work hard, argue effectively, change the world and maybe even become more tactful. I hope so.

My mind works differently. I want to hear about it is you run into Elle Woods of Legally Blonde.
