Edit: Wrong auction
mike777
south might pass 1h
nigel_k
I assume South bid 2♣ not East. South's actions are debatable but North's failure to double 1♥, then 1NT over 1♠ and finally pass of 2♣ are the worst calls of the auction and contributed by far the most to the bad result. North should indeed correct to 2♥. South has shown take-out shape by passing 1♥, he will have three hearts.
aguahombre
North of course should correct to 2H to make the best of a bad situation. South apparently got ahead of himself. He intended to lead ♣2, but accidentally bid it instead.
