This is depressing. I look at the hand and see doubleton jack and lousy long suit, yet this is another upgrade.

The hand is slightly too good to open 1n and with so much of my stuff located in the minors

AND easy way to show my distribution I feel it is much better to begin with 1c followed

by 2d. This has the benefit of leaving NT for p to bid (or avoid) and probably right sides NT

After 1N I would just transfer to hearts and check controls with RKC Gerber. Missing queen and 2 aces we can stop safely. Of course, if you are using 4C as a splinter this doesn't work.

@monikrazy, what RKCG responses are you using that the second step is 2 or 5 without trump queen? That is before mentioning the problems of using this route with a void.
