Adam1105
[hv=d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1sp2hp4np]133|100[/hv] Maybe this is a dumb question, but it's happened over and over to me. I'm playing my p's card and his/her card is 03/14. And ... so ... which suit do I respond to regarding the king trump and 4 aces?" Spades or Hearts?
TWO4BRIDGE
In this auction with no suit agreement, 4NT = RKC for the last bid suit: ♥ . - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - If no suit has been supported, the key suit is: 1. The strong 2C bidder's suit. 2. The strong jump-shifter's suit. 3. The jump rebidder's suit. 4. The last bid suit.
ggwhiz
I agree with the above, Hearts here. How about an auction that starts 1♠ - 2♥3♥ - 3♠ and soon either partner bids 4nt. I think it's for whichever suit the 4nt bidder supported ie. if the next bid is 4nt it's for hearts. If the next bid is a minor suit cue and responder bids 4nt it's for spades. Fluffy
on ggqhiz auction spades is the suit in my logic if there is only 5 keycards, but anyway it is the most classic 6 keycard blackwood sequence.

The following is a double-fit auction:1S - 2D 3D - 3S A double-fit is announced but ♠ becomes the agreed suit ( because a Major suit contract counts more ). In the double-fit cases I would consider using 6Ace-RKC.

I play that we're in a spades auction at this point unless opener bids 3N now which sets hearts. So 4C is a Q for spades. 4N is RKC for spades. Etc. RSClyde
I've never agreed with the reasoning that 1♠ 2♥3♥ 3♠was anything other than a cue bid for hearts. If all you want to do is set spades as trump, don't bid hearts: just game force with 2♣. For people who want it to show spades, what's your hand that you bid 2♥? If you have 5♥ and 3♠ then how do you know that spades is right? For all you know partner is 5-5.

In standard I would not start with 2♣ nor would I want to start with 4♣ or 2NT. Rainer Herrmann

Rainer HerrmannIf hearts gets raised I'm not sure how your going to figure out that partner has the Q after agreeing spades (unless you play 2-way key card). I would have no problem starting with 4♣ on this hand: if partner can't bid it after that then it's unlikely to be right. The same goes for 2♣ or 2nt. None are fool proof but neither is 2♥. So what if opener has that exact hand and it proceeds1♠ 2♥3♥now after hearts are agreed responder's spade holding will be crucial for slam but responder can't cue bid the suit.
