Zelandakh
Hello and welcome to the forums. Given the information we have I would suggest that the first call should be for the TD to let us know who dealt and what the form of scoring is; also the vulnerability if this is not Love All (the white in the diagram represents not vulnerable). It is ok - you are new here and will get the hand of it. These 3 things - scoring, vulnerability and dealer - are important to many hands and should always be included if possible. Similarly the opening lead and relevant carding agreements in play problems. For bidding questions you might also like to include a preferred bidding system if you want to restrict answers to that. Some posters, myself included, like to answer with bidding sequences from less common methods sometimes. So it is useful to know if you want specific advice (for SAYC, 2/1, Acol, etc) or are looking for general ideas on how to bid a difficult hand. In any case, I would think East is going to end up playing 4 or 5 hearts. The auction is going to be considerably different if South deals from the other 3 seats. Fluffy
This one only has 2 options, either south is dealer or he is not. If south is dealer: 1♠-pass-2♠-3♥3♠-4♥-all pass If south is not dealer then East opens 1♥-1♠-4♥-passpass-pass Bidding 4♠ over 4♥ is not dumb, but I Don't find a good excuse to do it this time by any player. EDIT If EW happen to be vulenrable, maybe West only bids 3♥ instead of 4, then East will bid 4♥ over north´s 3♠.
Zelandakh
Do you not think 3♠ is a little conservative, Fluffy? I had double penciled in there and in that case North will surely bid 4.
Fluffy
wich dealer are you talkng about? I don't think 3 low trumps and a singleton are worth a game raise opposite an opener, and even less against an overcall.
msfnt
Sorry, dealer is West. All red.

North may not have a game call over an opener but they do after an invite (double). I was talking about Opener's 3♠ call being conservative. Agree that the situation is different after East opens. Now North is really on a guess.

If partner wants to compete over 3♥ when I could have any number of hearts, then surely I should compete over 4♥ when I in fact have a singleton. On the other one I'm out of room. They have a big heart fit and I have support and a singleton, 4♠ has to be a better guess than pass. Both games could be making but it certainly seems that one of them will.
