benlessard
For me, 3♠ followed by 5C is stronger than a direct 5♣. I am actually surprised anyone would think otherwise. How many losers you need to bid 5C at imps vul here ? While 3S is often a hand where you want to play 3NT if partner got a stopper and nothing else but if partner doesnt bid 3NT your just going to guess what you hope you can make so it cannot be stronger than a direct leap to 5C. Maybe 3S-3NT-5C show a better hand than 5C but its a rare route anyway. At MP I would X but at imps jumping to 5C as a lot going for it. Advancer with KQx of D will have an easy 6C bid. After 3S--3NT-- jumping to 5C I agree that its probably stronger than a jump to 5C but its a rare route anyway.
Cyberyeti
Partner's hands were: Kxx, xxxxx, KQx, 9x So you want to be in 6 (6N by him is the nuts), do you think this is enough for 4N over (2♠)-3♠-(4♠)- ? Qxx, J10xx, AQ, xxxx So pass or double should get you a plus score unless partner completely falls off the planet, any contract you play is doomed, ♣AQJ109 are over the K and the Q♥ is wrong. Fluffy
Partner's hands were: Kxx, xxxxx, KQx, 9x So you want to be in 6 (6N by him is the nuts), do you think this is enough for 4N over (2♠)-3♠-(4♠)- ? ♦Q makes it likely that partner has the ace, although for me ♥A and 7 solid clubs would be enough for 3♠, the odds are in favour of ♦A being in partner´s hands, so moving on sounds correct. Even if responder passes the 3♠ bidder can double to show extras, but perhaps not that much as he has now.

Fluffy
you should replace ♥A with the King, ir else there are 10 tricks still :)
Cyberyeti
you should replace ♥A with the King, ir else there are 10 tricks still :) What I meant was that ♠K and ♦KQ add no tricks to the second hand, so bidding 6 is not great, but funny if they kick off with 2 rounds of spades. benlessard
Over an initial 5C (instead of double) you have an easy raise to 6C. 6NT is tough.
