diana_eva
Is this hand worth accepting an invite? I felt I should have bid, but being non vul I decided to pass - not that confident in my declarer skills for borderline games :) [hv=sn=hrothgar&nn=diana_eva&n=SK7HKT97DJ2CAQ973&d=n&v=o&b=17&a=1CP1S2DPP2NP?]100|200[/hv]
phoenix214
Well i know, i have acepted my parts invites some time when i had a 5332 shape with minimum points, just because i felt it was needed. But with these type of hands i think its good, if you have a diamond stopper because you have a source of tricks. Like there is a difference between your hand and the same point count with a 3334 shape for example.
hrothgar
At the other table, JEC bid 3N rather than 2N with my hand...
diana_eva
At the other table, JEC bid 3N rather than 2N with my hand... Yes but they open sounder than we do, I think.

The answer to your question depends a bit in your opening bid style. You say that you open light, so presumably this hand is at least a queen above minimum. I would bid game as the pips in the long suits make the hand quite powerful. With a bit of luck the contract will make. On the other hand, if the diamond stop is only a single stop and the club finesse loses, we might not make 2NT.
