mr1303
I thought it obvious too, but we got into trouble on this hand. Partner held AxxJ87XKTXQxx And it went 1C X 3C XP 3S AP 2 off for not a good score
ArtK78
I would vote no. WIthout full values for my takeout double, I want perfect shape. The three card heart holding is not perfect, so I vote no.

It looks as though you thought it showed both majors, and partner didn't.
aguahombre
The bid after the responsive Double is 3D by doubler. RD can then bid 3H if he is 4-4M, but he doesn't have to be 4-4M. He would have just bid a Major with 5. The original double is o.k. by me.
MrAce
[hv=pc=n&s=sqj63hk93da6532c6&d=e&v=n&b=2&a=1cd]133|200[/hv] Do we agree with the take out double here? Agree in ANY vulnerability & scoring. I don't like 3♠ bid by you, i would have bid 3♦. I will not get into long debate about responsive doubles and continuation, Andy tried to say briefly. And what does this result has anything to do with whether we pass or X over 1 cl with this hand ? Assume you passed 1♣. would you also pass in peace if bidding went 1cl-pass-3cl-pass-pass ? In fact you are very unlikely to find your best fit on this hand, had you decided to pass over 1♣. You would be playing 3♥http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif If you claim that you would have also passed 3♣, u can disregard my comment.
