1eyedjack
I don't think forcing passes have been programmed into GIB yet...Hi, thanks, I think that you are probably right.Yet I find it hard to construct hands in which it can be right both to force to 3N and then to sell out at the 4 level undoubled. It does not need forcing passes to be hard coded into its system to come to the same conclusion that logically pass cannot be right, simply based on sims. 1eyedjack
You raised the question about whether GIB has been programmed to acknowledge a forcing pass situation. It seems that it has. Not that *I* think that my pass over 5♠ was forcing, but GIB clearly thought that it was. Incidentally before anyone points it out, I don't think that my being one total point short of expectations for the 4♥ bid is significant, nor do I think that it makes it a bad bid. It would certainly have worked out better to overcall 4♥ instead of X, and I am certainly willing to accept that that would have been a better bid.
