Lord Molyb
losing trick count says 2♠ and I only have a 13 count but I like my aces so I'm still thinking.Probably will bid 2♠ at the table though.
trevahound
If I've fidgeted or broke tempo enough to give partner a problem, then 4s. 3s if I'm in tempo. 4s will make often enough opposite random near minimums to be worth it at imps, but partner can see the colors and form of scoring too. If any regular partner of mine passes 3s, we're likely going set there. :)
ArtK78
I am bidding 3♠ despite my 7 losers. I suspect that all of my cards are working, and my fourth spade may be pulling extra weight. Too good of a hand to bid a weasly 2♠. Could produce a game opposite AQxx x xxxx xxxx.

TylerE
Easy 2♠ for me. Not close to a 3♠ call. I like my jump raise to be good..espeically at IMPs... I want partner to feel about raising that to game frequently, which he can't If I'm bidding 3♠ on hands like this.
PhilKing
3♠. Why? Because I have a six-loser hand.
ggwhiz
3♠. Why? Because I have a six-loser hand. 2♠ is plenty. The opponents passing suggests pard may have tickets over there and I trust them to do the right thing as opposed to getting us too high if I overbid. TylerE
I think the people advocating 3♠ are vastly overrating the value of the A♣ singleton. If the hand was ♠KJxx ♥AJ9xx ♦Axx ♣x that would be a lot closer to a 3♠ (although to me, still not quite there...turn either J into a Q and I'd bid 3)
aguahombre
I don't think it is close. I am showing an opening hand with 4-5 in the majors by rebidding 2S. Add a King somewhere, and then I show more (O.K., just add the Spade queen).
mike777
2s looks like a 6.5 adjusted loser hand to me, nothing more partner should invite with an 8 loser hand for sure at imps.
CSGibson
2♠. I think its a max for the bid, though, and if I were playing precision or another light opening system it would be a 3♠ call.

monikrazy
3♠ seems right. Not unreasonable to evaluate our hand as 16 points with 3 aces, a 10 and a singleton. I don't want to miss a vulnerable game.
lowerline
Vulnerable at imps? Definitely 3♠.I agree with 2♠ at Matchpoints. Steven
the_clown
2♠, stiff Ace + bad trumps.... Not close for me
mcphee
With a 2 1/2 spade bid unavailable I will take the low road with a simple raise. Bidding 3 partner will advance to game with an excuse, which may prove costly. I would reconsider if that stiff ace was in the trump suit. If responder holds poor trumps they may not be able to develop H tricks. I have a terrific mitt facing any game try and do not expect to miss many game raising to 2S. Fluffy
depends on system, if 2♠ shows 4 spades then 2♠ is plenty, if you don't bid 2 with this hand you will never accept a game invitation. If 2♠ could be 3 card raise then you've gotta split this hand into the upper range.

neilkaz
2♠ is enough. While I love having 3 aces and a stiff, I have only a J extra, and weak trump and a stiff ace hasn't proven to me to be worth the full added value of a stiff in many cases, ie slight downgrade. Now if we trade the A♣ for the 2♠ meaning that we hold ATxx ♠ and 2♣ then I don't mind an aggressive 3♠ bid here.
MrAce
I replied 2♠ previously, imo value of this hand is between 2-3 ♠ leaning more towards 2♠. Change the ♣ A and put somewhere else it would be perfect 3♠ for me.
