With west's hand opposite a 3♠ opener, of course you want to think slam when you should have no out of trump losers. And yet it couldn't even make 5♠ due to east's bad hand. We acknowledge that GIB occasionally deviates from the system, particularly when under pressure by opposition pre-emptive bidding that takes away all good options, but I wouldn't expect any call for that when opening first in hand.
