dbsboy
[hv=pc=n&s=sakj964hk6d5ck843&d=s&v=n&b=15&a=1sp1np2cp3hp]133|200[/hv] Holding this hand, you opened 1♠. The bidding went 1♠-1NT(forcing)-2♣-3♥ (uninterfered). Do you agree with 2♣? And how about now? 3♠ or 4♥?
nigel_k
I would definitely bid 4♥. I would not rely on partner treating 3♠ as forcing without a specific agreement, and even then it should be a hand with much less in hearts. For example, AKJxxx x Kx Kxxx would be a hand with real doubt about which game is best. On the first round I don't have a problem with 2♣, but my style with a good suit is to just choose between 2♠ and 3♠. Here I would choose 2♠ but it is close. Bid 2♣ then continuing with 3♠ if I get preference would be something like AJxxxx Ax x AKxx where I am completely happy if partner passes 2♣ because he very likely has a stiff spade. fromageGB
As nigel said but I hate 2♣.
aguahombre
4H seems obvious to me, now. A 6-card heart suit and at least 11 HCP is expected. Whether I should have bid 2S before doesn't seem to matter here, but is still interesting. I don't believe the continuing debate about ♠-m-♠ is the same issue as ♠-♥-♠ when deciding whether to rebid the six-bagger, and would have rebid 2S; but, again, it is moot here. Fluffy
I have no reason to suspect 6-2 spades will be better than 6-2 hearts, in fact I suspect the contrary, we suspect ♠Q is missing, but most often ♥Q won't be. Also partner is allowed to have 7 hearts.
