fred
Does BBO ever crash on you? Please do not confuse "crash" with "disconnection". When you are disconnected you will either see a message like "The connection to BBO has been lost, please log in again" or the program will simply try to automatically reconnect you again. When a crash occurs you get a scary looking message from Windows. The nature of this message depends on the type of crash that occurred and the version of Windows that you are using. We have received a few disturbing e-mails about crashes with 3.9.9, but we are pretty sure that this is not happening to *everyone* (it is not happening to anyone on our staff and if it was happening to a lot of people we would likely be getting a lot of e-mail about it). In any case, now that the "white screen" problem appears to be solved, we are trying to eliminate all possible sources of crashes, but we need help from people who experience these problems. If you are willing to help, experience crashes with 3.9.9, and have at least moderate computer skills, please send me an e-mail: fred@bridgebase.com I will send you instructions for how to collect the information we need and how to report this information to us. Thanks in advance to anyone who is willing to get involved. Fred gitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com

frank
I have saved a copy of the file 'db' before I restarted BBO.Incidentally, the next time I restarted BBO I'm fairly sure that the login dialog box did not appear. Instead a "Loading..." message appeared [with no 'cancel' button in it]. The program was then hung up. The 'Close Program' dialog showed BBO as "not responding". I terminated it and started it again. This time the login proceeded normally.
