An interesting hand from yesterday

Recommended Posts

You can try the hand on my website CLICK HERE TO PLAY THE HAND

I have been experiencing some trouble with google chrome since google released the last couple of updates, I think something to do with memory issues that are beyond me, I recommend using any other browser.

I would like if you sing up so that there are not too many anonymous scores. Registering doesn't even require a valid email address right now.

The problem hand on the spoiler if you can't use my site.

Lead is 2 (third and fifth), to the Ace, RHO switches to 8 won by A, next comes A and another spade. Trumps are 2-2.

chrome guys are you using xP? the 2 computers I have in home have troubles with chrome on XP, the problems arise more often with several tabs open and specially if you leave my tab open and switch to another for a long time before coming back.

Windows 7.

no trouble with windows 7 and explorer however at one point I tried to make a

call (xx) and all I got was a message that was not a covered option please choose

from the selected choices. there were no selected choices available so I chose

what seemed to be a logical choice and was rewarded with being able to move

forward to play of the hand------------------maybe underline or somehow highlight

covered choices to avoid this error----also when one of the opps wins a trick they

will not lead to the next trick unless I click my mouse over one of my char.

good presentation:))))))))))))))))))

Do I have the point of the hand correct? I can't seem to find the commentary you usually show at the end of the hand.

After RHO shows up with the HA we can place pretty much all the remaining points with West. So clearly taking a club finesse is out of the question, nor can we establish the H8, nor can we crossruff (with only 9 tricks). So let's win in dummy and try establishing diamonds... crap, RHO shows out.

But all is not lost. If we believe the opening lead then West has 3 hearts, 6 diamonds, so must be 22 in the other suits, specifically Kx. Hence discarding a club on the HK followed by CA, ruff a club will establish the CQ. Problem solved!

Is one way, alternatively reduce to 10 and a club in dummy, AQ in hand and squeeze LHO.

Downloaded Opera but did not see the problem, I gather that you didn't like the result's window popping up when you were looking at the hand. You are not the first one to talk about this so I will change it now.

It can be closed to see the full hand by pressing the X at the top right.
