geitsab
The hands are great the opponents are first class, but its very hard to play against 3. I open a diamond and partner passes me out with 5 hearts. No one playing at this level pulls that trick. The other is robot opens 1 spade, I bid 1nt (forcing) and he passes me out. These are not programming mistakes, this is mind playing games by BBO. If you can't trust your partner, why play the game.
Bbradley62
The first one is a close call. Can the programmers tell whether OP's partner didn't due to a change in programming, or simply due to a difference in seed number? North's pass, opposite a passed hand's 1NT looks completely normal to me. I would have opened the South hand, and if I'm forced to pass, I would bid 2♣ the second time.[hv=lin=pn|geitsab,~~M11087ex,~~M11099ie,~~M11112rl|st%7C%7Cmd%7C1SAH36TQD5AC2689TQ%2CS8QH2789JD247TQCJ%2CS247TKH45AD3JC57A%2C%7Crh%7C%7Cah%7CBoard%207%7Csv%7Cb%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7C1S%7Can%7CMajor%20suit%20opening%20--%205%2B%20S%3B%2011-21%20HCP%3B%2012-22%20total%20points%20%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7C1N%7Can%7CForcing%20one%20notrump%20--%206-11%20HCP%3B%2012-%20tot%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cpc%7CH7%7Cpc%7CHA%7Cpc]360|270[/hv]
1eyedjack
Yes, if you mouse over a passed hand 1N response to 1M it still describes it as forcing. It makes some sense for it to be NF and I see from above rhat GIB (now) so treats it. Perhaps they have overlooked updating the explanation? Antrax
Yeah. You get the same thing with inverted minor raise by a passed hand. The description says forcing, but GIB passes it if it feels like it. CPU if I ever saw one.
barmar
Please post complaints about robot bidding in the GIB Robot Discussion forum. They bid the same in the instant tournaments as they do in any other tournament. However, the tournaments were originally played 4 years ago, and the robot bidding has been upgraded many times since then, so they don't bid the same as they did then. This has already been explained in 2 or 3 other threads.
