My partner had following hand at MP's:

- What do you open?

- If you open 1♦, will you reverse if partner bids 1NT or always bid Spade if opps compete?

1♦ followed by 4♠ if I'm white.

 

I did this once with a soon to be regular pard who worked out that it was right to bid 5♦ with 2 spades and one diamond for a good sacrifice.

IMO

1. Open 1♦ = 10, 1♠ = 7.
2. After 1♦ - 1N -; ??, 2♠ = 10, 4♠ = 9 (But now worried that PHilKing will take it as splinter for ♣).
3. In competition, repeat ♠.

Are 3♠ and 4♠ both splinters?

3♠ as an auto-splinter and 4♠ as XRKCB would seem reasonable, just on basic meta-rules.
