fred
Frank - If you can answer these questions it might help us figure this out: 1) Do you ever try to log in a 2nd time from the same computer while waiting for the 1st login to finish? 2) Do you ever try to log in twice using the same ID from 2 different computers at the same time? Don't worry - you are not going to "get in trouble" regardless of your answers. Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com

fred
Thanks - 2 more questions: 1) What version of Windows are you using? 2) At what point in the login procedure do you get the crash? For example, do you get as far as seeing "loading player list" message? If you would prefer to use e-mail for this, my address is fred@bridgebase.com. For example, do you get as far as seeing "loading player list" message? 1) WinME 2) I'm fairly sure that it was immediately after clicking the "Log In" button on the small dialog box (with my password 'remembered') and before any part of the BBO main screen had appeared. fred
Frank - do you use AOL? Someone else reported that there appears to be a connection between AOL's latest "security features" and problems with BBO. Apparently disabling these security features eliminated problems that he was experiencing (which sounded similar to the problems you are experiencing). We are looking into this... frank
We are getting other reports of crashes.I have had another one, this time after the table list had opened and I was about to page down. At first glance the faultlog entry looks very similar to my prior one. fred
Thanks Frank. Was the table list you refer to the actual "Main Bridge Club" list or was it the table list that you can see when you are already at a table and then click the "Tables" button? What time zone are you located in? Thanks, Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com
frank
Was the table list you refer to the actual "Main Bridge Club" list What time zone are you located in? 1. Yes, the "Main Bridge Club". My standard setting (in effect at the time) is to not show full tables. 2. EST. Add 33 seconds to the timestamp to get MIT time server time. fred
Frank, The next time this happens, can you please send me a copy of a file named db that resides in your BBO directory (probably c:\bridge base online)? I think this file is becoming corrupted and, if I can get a copy of version of the file that is causing the problem, I can probably figure out what is happening. My e-mail address is: fred@bridgebase.com Thanks, Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com
uday
BBO supposedly wipes this file after a crash. So if you suffer a crash, please email this file off to fred before you start BBO up again.
