mr1303
North, for not opening the automatic weak 2 in spades.
Antrax
South, for having the wrong black-suit king.
Cyberyeti
I think I'd be more likely to play 4♠ than 3N if I didn't play 5♣ and not sure I make that.
gwnn
North, for not opening the automatic weak 2 in spades.I hope you wouldn't double from East! ugh.
broze
I hope you wouldn't double from East! ugh. Surprise surprise, the auction from our teammates table: 2♠ - Dbl - AP. -800. Lose 14.
billw55
South, for leading ♥A and another?
mcphee
I see not blame really. There were a few factors that created problems. N did not open a weak 2 in first, ( i happen to like that) S did not show a 2 suited hand over 1C, difficult not to stress that S suit with those second round red suit controls. Once S bid D should W bid 3H, perhaps, difficult hand I think.
Cyberyeti
Surprise surprise, the auction from our teammates table: 2♠ - Dbl - AP. -800. Lose 14. We get out to 3♦ over a double and now you can try to find a making game, if you find 3N, 4♦ will be bid.
gszes
While 5c is unlucky to get set the sole blame for this debacle goes to west.West failed to realize the quality of their spade suit and as a consequencethey raised clubs instead of further insisting on spades with a 4s bid (whichallows for a higher scoring and 1 level lower contract). The suit quality of the spades is just short of being a 1 loser max opposite a void that is onepowerful suit and should almost always be trumps. billw55
I guess west could consider 3NT over 3♦, on the grounds that (1) he has both red kings (2) partner has jumped and is likely to hold a value or two in the reds as well (3) presumably he already promised 5 spades by bidding 1♠ instead of double. Still wouldn't call it blame though.

I think my team mate deigned it wise not to pull in view of the vulnerability. I take it you would bid 3♦ as South over 2♠ - (Dbl) then?
