Nasty trump split ahead ?

Recommended Posts

I stand no chance of improving the contract, and if it has no play then partner's hand evaluation is more likely a problem than mine. I have described my hand as best I can (according to the methods provided), and doing anything other than passing would be an overbid. Even an SOS redouble could make things worse: if partner's 2-7-1-3, for example, 4 may be our least bad spot.

p had a non forcing 3h bid available also they could have bid 4c if they were

2 suited oriented. they chose 4h for a reason and we have less than no clue

what those reasons are. pass quietly and see what happens. You either

trust your p or find another because you will not enjoy the game if you do not

trust your partner (same goes for your partner if you "decide" to pull them

from a making 4hx).

I'm with manudude: I hate the method: to me, 3 has to be forcing but that's because, I suppose, I play 2 immediate negative and that structure virtually requires that 2 2 3 be forcing, else big 2-suiters are unbiddable.

I can't imagine pulling.

If partner is, for example, 4=6=3=0 and felt endplayed because he had too good a hand to risk me passing below game, maybe we can have a useful discussion about improving our methods.

This was the bidding at our table :( obviously 3H was meant as forcing but was passed. No need to tell you that -2 undoubled was not enough. I was wondering If WEST double 4H if they have a chance to run out in 4S.

Assuming 3H (forcing)-3S It will be also real tough to stop in 4S.

How is it possible to go beyond 4?

Opener knows we're off the spade A. We are getting tapped in the KJx hand at trick 1. Even assuming partner holds the spade Q (the highest spade he can hold), all the opps need do is to duck 1 round of trump and then cash a club, on most lies. Opener would need to switch off his brain to bid more than 4

I also agree the method is pretty bad but its doesnt change a lot of things the bidding is likely to go (3C)-P-3H-3S-4H anyway. Some might even bid 4H directly because they may feel they have more than 9 sure tricks and wanted to show extras.

I think bidding 4H and not 4S is pretty clear.

Do you really prefer to be in 4s ?

but in the end its with 3H--3S--4H route you will probably avoid 4Hx so you can score it as a success.
