3H asks for slam points

4 shows 9

4H starts the scan

4N shows 1-2 controls in Hearts and 0-3 in Diamonds

At this point in time, RR is marked with A of Spades and AKQ of Diamonds

5C asks in clubs

5D shows 0-3 controls in Clubs

5H asks in Spades

5S shows 1 spade control

5N asks in Diamonds

6C denies the Jack of Diamonds

At this point in time, further searches for the grand seem unreasonable so relay captain places the contract (and hopes that RR doesn't have the stiff K of Hearts)

... 3 (shape)

3 - 4 (QP ask, 9QP)

4 - 5 (ask, one or three top spades and one or three top diamonds and zero or two top clubs)

This means Axxxx x AKQx xxx plus maybe some jacks. I'm glad to have the knowledge that partner doesn't have K.

6 - Pass

Ultra Club Relay / Copious Canape Club (C3)

Same sequence as #4, the Q can not be found and since are only 4-cards, the fit is less important.

1 16+ - 1 = 4+ or 4 & 5/

1 RELAY - 2 = 5 & 4/

2 RELAY - 3 = 5=1=x=x

3 BETA - 4 = 5 controls (missing 1 red K)

5 CAB - 6 = AK (missing K)

6 May need flat distribution

With the weak doubleton and a 2 outside losers, it's difficult to see us going anywhere without some Ace power. However, if we RKC, we might in over our heads at the 5-level, so it's seems best to use the QP ask.

...3H...4 (QP ask; 9 QPs)

...4...4N (DCB; control, AKQ of or nothing)

...6 (can't picture 9 QP hand without AKQ of +A)

(PCB with control parity)

3 - 4 (QP? - 9QP)

4 - 4N (control parity? - odd, even KQJ in )

At this point, responder possible hands are: Axxxx j AKQj xxx, Axxxx j AKjx Qxx, Axxxx K AQjx xxx, Axxxx K Ajxx Qxx. All hands are safe for small slam, with the first hand holding DJ has some minor chances for 7 (I would go for it needing a swing, I rate it at about 60% (68% for 3-2 break + HK coming down in three rounds or C finesse or H-C squeeze (I estimate this to be about 85%); higher with SJ, which has already been denied).

5 - 5 (D parity? - even KQJ in )

This hand reveals a flaw in the method, that it cannot differentiate between Axxxx J AKQx xxx vs Axxxx K AQJx xxx. Did not matter here but there will certainly be hands where it would. Maybe instead of PCB, one should use DCB with TOSR rules over KQJ instead of KQJ parity.
