Bidding is ACOL although same opening in SAYC? N.....E.....S.....W ..............1♦ - 3♥* (11-15ish jump o'call)3♠....P....??? 3♠ promises a 'goodish suit' (1) What should I bid as South here 4NT(RKCB) , 4♥ or 5♠/5NT (asking for spade quality or just bid 6♠??? (2) Also if you bid 4NT (I did!) partner bids 5♦ (1 or 4)? What do u bid next? (5) What is 5♥ here best as Q ask or Heart control for NTs? I bid 5♥ and partner replies 5NT - what do u bid next??? the hog
If 3S shows a "goodish" suit in a GF hand you could bid 5NT GSF here.
Fluffy
first of all 4NT is always ruled out when you have a void unless you know you will play 6 anyway and want to deceive opps. Next.. if 5NT GSF is avaible you have reached what you want to know, on the worse case of partner have 3 in each minor you will still succed with a finese. 5♥ would be the bid if you didn't had ♦A, ♣A or ♠K. helium
This is the most perfect hand for a 5 nt bid imho:) kenneth
Booze
my HO normaly good hands should be bid slowly as possible , so why not bid 4 ♥ , showing ♠ support and first control in ♥ , I guess you wants to know P:s spade quality and third controls in minors ? Give the hand space for it ?? 5 NT should show same hand but one minor going, now you wants to know third controls ? Booze
han
I have the general agreement that 5NT is "pick a slam" unless we have already established a fit. To avoid a misunderstanding, I would bid 5H, exclusion keycards. If partner shows no keycards I bid 6S. With one, I ask for the queen, and bid 7 if partner shows it. I don't think that I lose anything versus a grand slam force.
